According to Alegría, with only hours remaining before the deadline for submitting candidate lists closes on Monday the 26th, it is possible that the PP and Vox will form such an alliance because they defend the same policies: “It’s six of one and half a dozen of the other.”
Regarding CHA-Frente Amplio’s decision not to stand in Teruel, leaving them as the only left-wing force in the constituency alongside Podemos, the Socialist politician welcomed their transparency and their explanation of the reasons behind the decision. However, she said they would travel throughout all three provinces of Aragón “with the same intensity and enthusiasm” in order to win the election.
PP AND VOX NEGOTIATIONS
Last Friday, PP deputy secretary for Regional and Local Coordination and Electoral Analysis, Elías Bendodo, said there were “conversations with Vox regarding the parliamentary majorities needed in both Congress and the Senate,” in line with statements made by Feijóo that same day in an interview with Cadena SER.
The PP candidate also revealed that he had spoken with his Vox counterpart, Santiago Abascal, about which formula to apply in the Senate to counter the alliance between the PSOE and Frente Amplio and secure a majority in the Upper House. He promised his counterpart “a gesture” if Vox withdrew in constituencies where it had no chance of winning a Senate seat.
