Aragón Existe to run only in Teruel in general election to “focus on municipal elections”

Aragón Existe has decided not to field candidates in the November 2026 general election in the provinces of Zaragoza and Huesca, but will do so in Teruel. This brings it in line with the CHA-Frente Amplio Aragón movement’s decision not to contest the election in the province of Teruel, despite a disagreement with one of its members, Izquierda Unida, after Chunta announced and made the decision unilaterally.

For its part, Aragón Existe said in its statement that it considers it “a priority to consolidate its project” across all of Aragón’s counties and focus on the municipal elections, where “the problems of depopulation and inequalities in rural areas are more evident”.

“Our goal is to achieve the best possible result in the May municipal elections and in as many municipalities as possible, especially following the addition to our organization of people and councillors who are missing an Aragonese project that will fight for Aragón and the dignity of rural areas,” said Valero Aguayos, coordinator of Aragón Existe.
