This will be the second time Zaragoza has hosted an event in this competition, and organizers have highlighted the importance of the Aragonese capital. "The city deserves a circuit of this level because of its strategic location. It is a track that can help improve the future of the sport, and Zaragoza can be world-class in every field," organizers said during the presentation.
To add even more excitement to the race, points will be doubled, meaning all drivers will be eager to give their maximum effort because of the potential impact on the final standings. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, while the eliminations and finals will be held on Sunday. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 8:00 p.m.
THE TITLE CONTENDERS
In Semipro, Sergio Casallo arrives as the leader with 350 points, just 14 ahead of Nico Stelea. Stelea has been one of the biggest surprises, precisely because he is only 14 years old and is one of the discipline's fastest-rising prospects. Aile López is in third place, 96 points behind Casallo. Pedro García and Gaizka Zabala also retain mathematical chances. Both need maximum points and early eliminations for Casallo and Stelea.
In Pro, Raman Kandratsenka arrives as the leader and depends on himself to win the championship. João Vieira is second and his closest rival. The Portuguese driver needs to win the eliminations and for Kandratsenka to finish off the podium to swing the championship in his favor. Behind them, Karim Jahan also still has a chance.
Adrián Cabanillas, fourth and the highest-ranked Spanish driver, needs a perfect weekend and an early elimination for Kandratsenka. Cabanillas made his debut in the category this year after winning the Semipro title last season.
