Zaragoza embraces the World Cup trophy: "We are experiencing a very exciting moment"

"We are experiencing a very exciting moment. Being able to receive the World Cup is undoubtedly an honor and the perfect finishing touch to the Pilar Festival," Zaragoza Mayor Natalia Chueca said of an exhibition that will be open until this coming Tuesday and which opened to the public last Sunday, drawing nearly 2,500 people despite the rain and bad weather.

It is another example of the passion and enthusiasm for the Spanish national team in a city in Aragon that already made headlines around the world with the impressive aerial image of more than 32,000 fans who watched the final from a packed Plaza del Pilar. "We all remember who we watched that match with and where we watched it, and you don't remember everything you do every day," said the president of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, who has presented members of the RFEF with multiple measures of the Virgin of Pilar, intended for each member of the squad that was crowned world champion.

Thus, the World Cup trophy will remain in Zaragoza until this coming Tuesday. "It reflects the unity and connection surrounding the historic title won by the Spanish national team on American soil," said Manuel Torralba, president of the Royal Aragonese Football Federation, who also stressed that the exhibition "can touch your heart and move you."

Following the institutional ceremony, which was also attended by the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Louzán, the delegation, led by acclaimed national team coach Luis de la Fuente, traveled to the Basilica of the Pillar, where, in a moving and symbolic ceremony, it presented the prestigious trophy to the Virgin of the Pillar.

The Kings of the World exhibition is located in the Reception Hall of Zaragoza City Hall and can be visited this Monday the 19th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free, although visitors must register in person while waiting in the line set up at the City Hall entrance, in Plaza del Pilar.
