The councillor highlighted the importance to Zaragoza of having both its teams in the top flight, and Brocate expressed hope that they might one day be able to appear on the City Hall balcony. "We must remember that the only team from the city to have won a league title was a futsal team. I hope I can be downstairs applauding when you are up here," he added.

The presidents of the clubs, José Ramón Moreno (men's team) and Concha Cameo (women's team), also spoke at the event. Both emphasized how important it is for them to "be recognized" and said the welcome was "an extra motivation to achieve our objectives".

THE CAPTAINS TAKE THE FLOOR

Iván Bernad, captain of the men's team and a club institution, said that as someone from Zaragoza it was "a real honor to be here" and expressed his hope that both his team and the women's side would achieve their goals. "We know it is going to be a very tough season, but players enjoy challenging themselves against the best, and hopefully we can secure survival," he said.

The final speaker at the event was Marta Ibáñez, captain of the women's team. Her remarks were brief but clear, acknowledging that "it is going to be a difficult year and we have not started well, but we will give everything to secure our survival".
