"It is one of those necessary and essential projects because the stadium could not go on as it was. And it is true that there can sometimes be differing opinions among local residents and others, but I believe it is an excellent investment. It is a venue located in the very heart of the city and one that can, in some way, host major events in that space," said Louzán, who spoke at the presentation ceremony held at Zaragoza City Hall.
"Therefore, congratulations, and I believe we should celebrate the fact that from next year we will be able to have another World Cup stadium, which this city needs. It is very good for Spanish football that this stadium joins the nine currently in place, plus two possible additions that could bring the total to eleven venues for the World Cup," said the RFEF president about the 2030 World Cup, organized by Spain together with Morocco and Portugal.
REAL ZARAGOZA
In addition to his comments about Zaragoza's new stadium, Louzán also offered words of support for Aragon's clubs: "It is true that all of this needs to be linked to football, and hopefully sooner rather than later Real Zaragoza will return to its natural place, which is professional football, and if that can be in the top division, then all the better. Therefore, I also wish great success in this regard to Real Zaragoza itself, as well as Huesca and Teruel, with the added coincidence that all three are currently in the same division."
