The French forward, who passed her medical this Friday, concluded the regular season of the American league with Toronto Tempo last week. As a result, she was unable to play in a Super Cup in which Casademont lost in the semifinals to Valencia Basket (73-84), who would go on to win the title.
Bankolé will now join Carlos Cantero's squad, which will be able to count on all its players until the end of the year. That is when Mariona Ortiz will leave the Aragonese club, which begins its Liga Endesa campaign this weekend against Estepona at the Príncipe Felipe and will start its EuroLeague campaign in two weeks by hosting Basket Landes.
HER WNBA STINT
The French player began her WNBA career on a development contract and, after earning a place with the Canadian franchise, Bankolé secured a regular contract. The improvement did not affect Casademont's plans, as Toronto Tempo's failure to qualify for the playoffs meant the French player's return would come at the end of the WNBA regular season.
In North America, Bankolé played 14 games for Toronto Tempo, taking on an increasingly important role. She averaged 3.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in nearly 15 minutes per game. This coming season, the French player will enter her second year with Casademont after renewing her contract for another campaign last May.
