Ornella Bankolé highlights her time at Casademont Zaragoza as key to adapting to the WNBA: "The project is incredible, and coming here was not such a drastic change"

The only remaining Casademont Zaragoza player yet to arrive, apart from Astou Ndour, is Ornella Bankolé. The French player finishes with Toronto Tempo on September 25 and will be ready for the start of the Liga Femenina Endesa season.

Precisely, the French wing spoke to ONFR Toronto about the importance of her time at the red-and-black club in preparing for the WNBA. "The facilities are incredible and the fans are great. The people there are wonderful, so, honestly, it was not too drastic a change for me; what they do there is truly fantastic and the project is incredible, so I did not feel out of place," she said.

Bankolé will begin her second season in the Aragonese capital this year and must take another step forward to continue earning minutes in a rotation that will demand the most from the French wing.

GOOD NUMBERS AGAINST CHICAGO

In the early hours of this morning, she played in the second-to-last game of the regular season, a 85-97 loss to the Chicago Sky. Bankolé played just over 20 minutes; it is worth recalling that she signed a regular contract to finish the season in Toronto, and she showed that she is in good shape for her return to Casademont Zaragoza.

The French player scored 6 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 1 assist. Those are good numbers for a French wing who looks set to arrive as the player in the best form, having continued to play in almost every game for the Tempo since August, also because of the injuries that have affected the Canadian franchise.
