Nadia Fingall is back: Casademont Zaragoza regains a key player ahead of the Super Cup

Nadia Fingall is already back in Spain and will rejoin Casademont Zaragoza as the team prepares for its first title challenge of the season: the Super Cup. The American center arrived in Spain on Wednesday after ending her first stint in the United States with the Golden State Valkyries and will be available this weekend.

In fact, the American, who was waived by the California franchise last Friday, will report for duty under Carlos Cantero this Thursday to begin working alongside the rest of her teammates. Fingall will therefore have just a few sessions to regain her feel for the game, integrate into the group's dynamics and learn firsthand about the project's latest developments before the Super Cup begins this coming Saturday, with Casademont set to defend the title it won last season.

The return of the American center represents the recovery of an important piece for the Rojillas' interior game. A key player last season, Fingall already knows the team and many of her teammates. In addition, her return comes after several weeks of activity on the other side of the Atlantic, even though she did not play many minutes in games with the Valkyries. The aim during these first training sessions will therefore be to adapt gradually to the demands of the new Aragonese team's systems.

With Fingall back in their ranks, Casademont will face Valencia Basket this Saturday in the semifinals of the LF Endesa Super Cup, starting at 5:15 p.m., with the aim of officially starting the season on a positive note and competing again for a title they lifted last season.

BANKOLÉ IS THE ONLY ONE STILL MISSING

With Fingall back in the Aragonese capital and Astou Ndour not due to join until January, Ornella Bankolé is the only member of the roster still absent from Zaragoza. The French forward is entering the final week of the WNBA regular season with the Toronto Tempo, which concludes this Friday. As a result, and with the team failing to qualify for the playoffs, Bankolé will be the last player to join Casademont's setup and will not be available for a Super Cup that Casademont wants to win again.
