Jilson Bango on his return to the court: "It has to be gradual; it can't happen too quickly"

There is no specific return date, but Jilson Bango is focused on taking things one step at a time as he works to return to his best level. The Angolan center is in the final stage of recovering from his knee injury and was presented on Monday as Casademont Zaragoza's new player in his second spell in the Aragonese capital.
Jilson Bango on his return to the court: "It has to be gradual; it can't happen too quickly"

"Everything has been going well so far. It has to be gradual; it can't happen too quickly because it is a serious injury. I feel much better now and we are working here to see if I can start doing more things very soon," explained the Angolan center, who did not want to speculate about a specific return date but repeatedly emphasized how "eager" he is to play again and to do so with Casademont. "This injury is something for which I have to be psychologically very strong," he added.

In this way, Bango begins his second spell in the Aragonese capital after having "changed a lot" since his departure two seasons ago, particularly thanks to the "experience" he has gained. "I am getting stronger and working so that I can compete at the highest levels possible. I am here to give my best and do whatever I can," replied the red-shirted center when asked whether he would be able to perform at the very high level he showed during his first spell with the club.

Regarding his teammates, Bango highlighted the good signings made by a team that has played "two great games" at the start of the current ACB season. In fact, the Angolan showed ambition regarding the Aragonese club's objectives in a year that "could be better than last year": "The playoffs, winning the Liga Endesa, I don't know... Reaching as high as we possibly can."

HIS AFFECTION FOR ZARAGOZA

As he made clear, the center's decision to return to Casademont goes beyond sporting considerations. "I have good memories here at Casademont because my family was here too. That is why I am very happy to be here," said Bango, who was "very excited" to play again for an Aragonese team that, as he acknowledged, he had followed from afar over the past two seasons since his departure.

"I have to work and play. That is what matters to me now: working, giving my best and being with the team when I return," said Bango, who is seeking a full recovery in order to contribute for Casademont and get closer to the level that impressed the entire Marea Roja and made him one of the ACB's sensations at the time.
