"They have made great additions and also put in some excellent performances in preseason. Their perimeter players are capable of scoring a lot, and they are one of the candidates to finish in the top eight in the league," the Slovenian said.
Lakovic has taken over from Txus Vidorreta, who was a very important coach for the Canary Islands side in recent years, but he has expressed great confidence ahead of the new season. "There will be pressure, and we put quite a lot of it on ourselves because we are natural competitors. Everyone on the team is a winner, and that pressure will come, but this is our life. We carry it in our blood, which is why I have complete confidence in this group of players," he said.
The island side has kept most of its roster, with the tireless Marcelinho Huertas and Shermadini as the team's standard-bearers. It will therefore be a good test for Gonzalo García de Vitoria's team, which already managed to beat Lakovic's side in preseason.
