Inversus Gernika's home court has historically been a difficult venue for Casademont in recent visits. Zaragoza have lost their last four official games on the court in Vizcaya and have not won there since December 2022, when they prevailed 59-63. That record adds difficulty to an away game in which Cantero's team will look to open its account of away wins on the second matchday of the league.
In this way, the Aragonese side face an intense challenge after making a strong start to the domestic competition with a win over Estepona, in which they improved as the game progressed before pulling away and leaving the Andalusian team with no chance. Casademont will therefore look to maintain that level during a week in which, after facing Gernika, they will travel to Galicia at the weekend to take on Celta Zorka.
Both games this week will allow Casademont to continue working through its development phase after a preseason marked by the gradual arrival of its players. The Aragonese team is still finishing the process of putting all its pieces together and approaches this second official game with room for improvement, particularly ahead of the start of a demanding EuroLeague campaign that allows no mistakes and begins next Wednesday with a home debut against Basket Landes.
THE OPPONENT: INVERSUS GERNIKA
This Wednesday, Casademont will face a Gernika side that already showed in the opening round that it has the tools to compete. The Basque team won 80-84 away to Celta Zorka, led by a stellar Joy Adams, who recorded 16 points, 12 rebounds and 30 valuation credits and is emerging as one of the players to watch alongside Ángela Salvadores, Lara Mcspadden and Aaronette Vonleh.
