Carlos Cantero's key to the clash with Avenida: "We have to impose our rhythm"

Having won every game played in both the EuroLeague and Liga Femenina Endesa, Casademont Zaragoza will travel to Salamanca this Sunday (12:00) for their toughest test yet in the domestic competition. Seeking to remain unbeaten, the red-and-black side will aim to control the game, as Carlos Cantero has stressed, in order to claim their fifth consecutive league victory.
Carlos Cantero's key to the clash with Avenida: "We have to impose our rhythm"

"We have to try to impose our rhythm against Salamanca. We know they may not have the quality they had in other years, but they are showing that they are more of a team than in previous years, and that is dangerous. We cannot let our guard down and have to tread carefully, trying to impose our basketball, our rhythm and our physicality," the Madrid-born coach explained.

Casademont will thus look to maintain their unbeaten record in Salamanca, extending the best start to a league season in the history of the red-and-black club. "It is not something that particularly worries us; it is more about continuing to learn through winning, taking further steps forward in our identity as a team and achieving consistency from all the players," Cantero stressed, pointing out that the red-and-black team's strength lies in the "step forward" being taken by the players who were already with the club last season.

As for the new additions, the coach defended the role of players who are still adapting within the Aragonese squad: "It is not easy to come from a situation with little experience in your first year, or perhaps as a professional, and perform for a team with the demands of a team like ours or a club like ours in the highly competitive competitions we are playing in."

MAWULI'S PERFORMANCE

Regarding their next opponents, the red-and-black coach highlighted the contribution of Stephanie Mawuli, who is Avenida's main weapon in the league. "She is not here because she lacks quality or because she has shown that things did not work out for her here. I think it has been good for her to have had a slightly more secondary role at this club, in teams like ours, and now she is ready for a more prominent role in a team such as Salamanca this year."
