Caleb Homesley, Casademont Zaragoza guard: "We don't want to get carried away by our strong start to the season"

After a convincing win in Galicia, excitement continues to grow at Casademont Zaragoza, which dreams of reaching important milestones in the ACB this season. However, as Caleb Homesley stressed on Thursday, the team remains focused on working and improving: "We don't want to get carried away by our strong start to the season."

"We're just trying to improve every day, and I can really see it in practice. We're making good progress, so when game time comes, we'll be ready," said the American guard, who highlighted the "good work" done during the preseason and said this strong start to the season is only "the starting point" for continued improvement. "We're heading in the right direction to achieve our goals," he added.

Among García de Vitoria's team's strengths, Homesley emphasized how well Casademont plays together, with "different players possessing different talents." "We play very well together, knowing where each player wants to receive the ball, who the key players are and who will create opportunities for the others. Also, defensively, I think we've been really solid as a collective," the American player said.

"I always try to bring my character and my personality. For me, it wasn't just about playing once a week, but about playing with a group of guys under a good coach. Zaragoza also believes in something bigger than in previous years, and they were eager to change the structure of the project. I was willing to come here and help make that happen," Homesley said when asked about his personal situation at the club.

GOAL: THE COPA DEL REY

Although the guard recalled that Casademont initially chose to set its objectives as the season progressed, Homesley did mention a goal he wants to achieve himself: playing in the Copa del Rey. "When the team plays together, it's a strong team with good players, and that's even been evident in away games," the guard said of an Aragonese side that has won both of its away matches.

Casademont will return to the Príncipe Felipe this Sunday looking to secure its third win of the season and its first at home against Ilerna Lleida. "Home games are very important, and we always want to win them. La Marea Roja helps us do that, and having them behind us is hugely important to securing those victories," said the American guard, who identified "defense and rebounding" as the keys to beating the Catalan side.
