The team from Zaragoza province won 2-0 in the first leg at the San Íñigo Stadium, and this weekend secured a 1-2 victory in Baztán. With a 4-1 aggregate score, Atlético Calatayud is now celebrating a progression that gives the team reason to dream. It is a unique opportunity for a side competing in the second group of Regional Preferente.
The second leg took place this Saturday. At San Íñigo, Atlético Calatayud beat Baztán 2-0 at home, and an entertaining contest was played out this Saturday on Navarrese soil. The Calatayud side took the lead in the first minute, while the Navarrese team equalized in the 11th minute. The decisive 1-2 goal arrived in the 20th minute, scored by Martínez.
THE DECISIVE DATES
Atlético Calatayud now faces several decisive dates. The draw to determine its opponent is scheduled for this Monday, October 5. It is worth remembering that there are only four possibilities, because this initial round of the Copa del Rey follows geographical proximity criteria: Athletic Bilbao, Espanyol, Osasuna or Alavés.
Once its opponent has been determined, Atlético Calatayud will have to designate the stadium where the match will be played. In principle, barring a major surprise, it will be at their own ground, San Íñigo.
At the same time, a date will be assigned for the match. There are three options: October 27, 28 or 29. Atlético Calatayud will then also have a date marked in the history of Calatayud.
