The Aragonese athlete was key to securing the bronze medal in the mixed relay. Spain led the event and, in the final leg of the running section, Edo's sprint saw the team overcome Great Britain to claim third place and complete the podium behind France and Hungary.

He also put in a strong performance in the individual event, finishing just six seconds short of winning bronze. It was a highly meritorious result after he suffered a cycling crash that forced him to fight back through the field.

Zaragoza-born Marta Pintanel also competed at the World Championships and finished 12th in the women's elite event, delivering a strong performance as the best Spanish athlete in the women's category.
