The Girona-born coach arrives with the primary aim of overhauling a squad that has failed to show its supposed potential at the start of the season, having collected just 10 points from a possible 21 (two wins, four draws and one defeat). Those poor numbers have left the team in ninth place, two points from the playoff spots and three above the relegation zone.

In his opening remarks, Rudé emphasized hard work as the non-negotiable foundation of his teams. He will therefore have plenty of work to do with a squad that, so far, has demonstrated little ability to be consistent or put in the required effort on the field, beyond the occasional flash of quality.
THE TASK OF ADDING POINTS AWAY FROM HOME
At El Alcoraz, Huesca have collected seven points from a possible 12, which is not a bad record, although the defeat against Villarreal B was a dismal performance from Jardiel’s side, who were outplayed throughout. Away from home, however, they have collected only draws, despite playing the entire second half with two more players against Real Jaén, while Águilas equalized in stoppage time.
In addition, against Teruel they were only superior during the final 20 minutes, when the Bajo Aragón side began to feel the physical strain. Despite everything, they managed to rescue only one point thanks to the drive of Agustín Juárez, who has been almost the only positive aspect of Huesca’s performances. As a result, they have let results slip away in matches where everything had fallen into place for the Alto Aragón side to claim three points.
This is compounded by their poor attacking conversion rate, having scored nine goals—a figure surpassed only by Hércules, with six goals, among the competition’s top 10 teams. Looking at all the teams in the league, only eight have scored fewer than Huesca so far, five of them being clubs in the relegation zone.
Rudé will make his dugout debut this Friday at 9:15 p.m. away against Alcorcón. It will be a match against one of the teams showing the best form at the start of the campaign, and it remains to be seen whether the change in the dugout will have an effect on the Huesca side.
