When can you visit La Seo’s new exhibition for free?

Zaragoza’s Holy Week has taken over the interior of La Seo, with several opportunities to discover it without paying admission. The “Ad Salvatorem” exhibition brings together 23 religious floats and processional images, centuries-old sculptures and historic objects belonging to Zaragoza’s brotherhoods. The exhibition opens this Friday, October 23, as part of the 13th National Meeting of Young Members of Brotherhoods and Confraternities, and will offer several free-admission days for residents of Aragón.

The Cathedral of the Savior will offer visitors the chance to see up close well-known images such as Jesus’ Entry into Jerusalem, the Kiss of Judas, Our Lady of Sorrows and Christ of the Bed. All of them will take part this Saturday in the meeting’s extraordinary procession before returning to the church, where some will be arranged in the chapels so visitors can view them from a different perspective.

The exhibition also includes sculptures dating from the 15th century onward, processional banners, standards and gold- and silversmith pieces. Among the most unusual objects are a burned cincture belonging to the Brotherhood of Jesus on the Way to Calvary and fragments of images recovered after the collapse of the Solano garage in 1981.

WHICH DAYS CAN YOU VISIT FOR FREE?

The first opportunity to enter the exhibition free of charge will be this Friday, October 23, in the afternoon. Within October, it can also be visited for free next Tuesday, October 27. It is worth remembering that La Seo offers four days of free admission for residents of Aragón, so the exhibition will also be free on those days.

In November, it will also be possible to visit the exhibition for free on the 5th, 10th and 17th, before dismantling begins. To benefit from free admission, visitors must prove that they reside in Aragón by showing their national identity card or another valid document.

Outside these days, admission is through La Seo’s tourist ticket. General admission costs 10 euros, while people over 65 and visitors with disabilities pay 9 euros. Young people aged 12 to 18 have a 7-euro ticket, the same price charged to groups of at least 20 people. Children aged up to 12 can also enter free of charge, in accordance with the cathedral’s admission conditions.
