The idea is simple: anyone will be able to bring their instrument and join in the music, whether they come alone or with others, with an established group or ready to improvise. The aim is to share songs and experiences in a welcoming, open and participatory atmosphere, without having to follow the usual concert format.
Juergas Folkys aims to revive the spirit of those spontaneous musical gatherings where participants share their passion. The initiative also seeks to encourage interaction between different generations and help preserve the transmission of popular musical heritage.
"We believe traditional music needs spaces for meeting, community and enjoyment. After a few particularly difficult years for musical and community activities, we want to make a small contribution by creating a place where musicians, enthusiasts and folk lovers can meet regularly," explain its organizers, Helena Perdomo and Pepín Banzo.
JUERGAS FOLKYS AIMS TO TAKE PLACE EVERY MONTH IN ZARAGOZA
The organizers want these gatherings to take place monthly and have already scheduled dates through next June. The aim is to give continuity to an activity where traditional music fans can meet regularly.
Each session will be open both to those who want to take part by playing an instrument and to those who prefer to listen, meet other musicians or simply enjoy a different morning centered on folk music.
