Three Books by Aragonese Author Domingo Buesa Available Free in Digital Format: How to Get Them

The recent death of Domingo Buesa left Aragonese culture, history, politics and education without one of their leading figures. On September 16, a figure so representative of and committed to society passed away after dedicating his entire life to Aragon. To pay him the tribute he deserves, the Institute of Aragonese Studies (IEA) is making three books by the writer and historian from Huesca available to readers.

Author of an extensive series of studies focused mainly on the history and art of Aragon, Domingo Buesa also wrote several novels, the latest of which was "La muerte del inquisidor" (Doce Robles). Three of his works can be downloaded and read completely free of charge in digital format through the website of the Institute of Aragonese Studies.

The three books are "La diócesis de Jaca: historia eclesiástica de un territorio", available in the Altoaragoneses Studies Collection; "El cura y la maestra", in the Letras del Año Nuevo collection; and "Guía monumental y artística de Serrablo", co-authored with Antonio Durán Gudiol, which can be read in the Cuadernos Altoaragoneses de Trabajo collection.

In addition, the IEA's publishing catalog includes several articles by Buesa published in 1978, 1986 and 2004 in the journal Argensola, whose editorial board he served on.

AN IMPORTANT FIGURE IN THE HISTORY AND ART OF ARAGON

Named an adopted son of Jaca in 2014, he held a doctorate from the University of Zaragoza and was a professor of history. Until his recent death, he served as president of the Royal Academy of Fine and Noble Arts of San Luis and was Huesca's corresponding member of the Royal Academy of History and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, among many other responsibilities.
