From San Pablo to CaixaForum: Free Open House Festival Activities Still Available

Descend into the hidden crypt beneath La Seo’s Parroquieta, get close to the F-18s at the Air Base in one of Europe’s largest hangars or see how the transformation of the Water Tower is progressing before its full reopening. Open House Zaragoza will once again open some of the city’s most surprising spaces from Thursday through Sunday in a festival that invites visitors to see the city through different eyes. The event was officially presented this Wednesday, although tickets to visit those sites sold out some time ago.
From San Pablo to CaixaForum: Free Open House Festival Activities Still Available

That said, some activities are still available for Zaragoza residents to enjoy this festival, which brings together architecture and culture. Most are free, although tickets must be purchased for some of them.

“RESONANCES” CONCERT AT SAN PABLO CHURCH

One of the plans for which tickets are still available will bring music to one of Zaragoza’s great Mudejar monuments. San Pablo Church will host the “Resonances” concert on Sunday 27 at 6:00 p.m., as part of the Open House Mudejar Route. The concert will take place in the church’s main nave, located at number 42 Calle San Pablo.

The program will bring together marimba, harp and saxophone, with works by composers including J. S. Bach, Steve Reich and Jacob Druckman. The idea is to make use of the temple’s own resonance and architectural features to establish a dialogue between music from different eras and styles. The performers will be Mario Vidal, Adrián Fuentes, Alba Calva and Héctor Sobrino.

SHORT FILMS AND ARCHITECTURE AT CAIXAFORUM

In addition to visiting the hidden side of one of Zaragoza’s most beloved exhibition centers, CaixaForum will host the first edition of FILMOHZ on Saturday, September 26: the International Short Film Festival “Architecture from Other Perspectives.” The event aims to explore how buildings, cities and spaces can also become part of the stories told by cinema.

The first session will begin at 11:00 a.m. with screenings of the 12 selected short films, introduced by Dani Calavera, followed by discussions with the audience after the different blocks. Attendees will also be able to vote to choose the Filmohz Audience Award.

The day will continue at 7:00 p.m. with the awards ceremony, hosted by Javier Vázquez. One of the highlights will be a tribute to Aragonese filmmaker Miguel Ángel Lamata, an event that actor Eduardo Noriega is also expected to attend. The ceremony will also feature musical performances by Silvia Solans, Jorge Bermejo and Cristian Baquero.

COCKTAIL AT HIBERUS

Hotel Hiberus still has places available for its Filmohz 2026 dinner-cocktail, which will be held on Saturday at 9:00 p.m. for 35 euros. The event will serve as a prelude to the festival’s nighttime program, which will continue with DJ music and a vertical dance and videomapping show on the building’s exterior walls (this one is free, although tickets are sold out).
