The incident took place on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 13, when the man was caught stealing products from the store. After being discovered, he reacted violently toward the manager and injured her wrist. Despite the assault, the woman managed to prevent him from leaving the premises with the help of a customer who happened to be there at the time.

The customer turned out to be an off-duty Civil Guard officer, who helped the employee restrain the suspect until a National Police patrol arrived. The officers arrested him on suspicion of robbery with violence.

TWELVE POLICE RECORDS IN JUST NINE MONTHS

The arrested man is the same individual who had recently been detained for his involvement in the theft of professional tools worth more than €26,000 from construction sites near the Huesca Sur Logistics Platform. In that operation, National Police officers arrested three people who had used a previously stolen van to transport the stolen materials.

According to police information released at the time, the individual had accumulated twelve police records in nine months and had been arrested days earlier after being caught stealing from inside another vehicle. Following this latest arrest, the man was brought before a judge, who ordered him to be remanded in custody.
