The Government Council authorized this Wednesday a collaboration agreement with Huesca City Council, along with other initiatives in the province, including the free transfer of four homes to Alcolea de Cinca City Council, emergency works on the A-2605 and a pedestrian bridge in Abizanda.
RENEWAL OF HUESCA CITY CENTER
The regional minister for Housing, Public Works, Logistics and Territorial Cohesion, Octavio López, explained that the regional government will contribute to “continuing to improve urban spaces, promoting pedestrian mobility and renovating different areas of the provincial capital”.
The regional contribution will be divided among five projects. Desengaño Street will receive €200,454.25; Zaragoza Street, €673,788.15; Abellanas Passage, €183,764.14; Navarra Square and central Huesca, €145,000; and sectors 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 of Miguel Servet Park, €367,993.46.
FOUR PUBLIC HOMES FOR ALCOLEA DE CINCA
The Government Council also approved the free transfer to Alcolea de Cinca City Council of four homes located at 6 Avenida de la Autonomía, Block 5, to be used for municipal social-interest purposes.
The properties belong to the assets of the former Aragon Institute of Land and Housing (ISVA) and have a combined value of €240,105.99, according to the technical report. “This decision makes it possible to mobilize public assets to expand the supply of affordable housing and enable these properties to fulfill a social function,” López said.
WORKS ON THE A-2605 AND A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE IN ABIZANDA
In terms of infrastructure, the regional government has approved the emergency work carried out on the A-2605 to stabilize the lower slope and rebuild the roadway at kilometer point 17.600.
The road was damaged by torrential rains in February, when the sudden appearance of cracks caused more than 100 meters of roadway to collapse and made it unsafe to travel. Octavio López therefore argued that the intervention was necessary to restore public service and prevent the towns of Sinues and Aísa from being cut off from Jaca.
In addition, the Aragon Government has approved an agreement with Abizanda City Council to build a pedestrian bridge connecting the parking area with the town center. The project is part of the Pyrenees Plan and is included in Decree-Law 1/2026 of June 10. The regional government will provide €150,000 through a direct grant, while the total cost of the work amounts to €206,075.04.
