Hotel Canfranc Estación hosted the presentation of ‘La Antesala de la Gala’ on Tuesday, an event at which these details were announced and attended by the president of the Huesca Provincial Council, Isaac Claver. The provincial official highlighted “the pride and opportunity that hosting this event represents for the province.” He also recalled that Huesca is the Spanish province with the most Michelin stars per inhabitant and is home to award-winning restaurants in small municipalities, demonstrating that gastronomic talent knows neither places nor borders.
EIGHT CHEFS FROM HUESCA WILL PREPARE THE MICHELIN GALA MENU
The gala’s gastronomic team will consist of Toño Rodríguez (La Era de los Nogales, Sardas), Rubén Coronas (Casa Rubén, Hospital de Tella), Víctor Manuel Ovalles (Casa Arcas, Villanova), Iris Jordán (Ansils, Anciles), Eduardo Salanova (Canfranc Express, Canfranc Estación), Josetxo Souto and Ramón Aso (Callizo, Aínsa), and Tonino Valiente (Tatau, Huesca). They all represent restaurants that hold one Michelin star.
Isaac Claver also wanted to recognize the work of the province’s entire hospitality sector: “the hospitality industry in our province is essential. It welcomes visitors with open arms, while also showcasing our finest products and paying tribute to the family heritage, farmers and livestock breeders.”
THE MICHELIN GALA WILL SHOWCASE HUESCA’S GASTRONOMY
The president of the Provincial Council also praised the cooperation between institutions to promote this event and raise the province’s profile. In this regard, he said that “this major milestone is the result of everyone rowing in the same direction—the Government of Aragon, the Provincial Council and Huesca City Council—positioning our region as never before.”
The ‘La Antesala de la Gala’ program will continue this afternoon at Hotel Monasterio de Boltaña, where chefs, residents, institutional representatives and media outlets will take part in a meeting to reflect on the role of gastronomy as a driver of territorial development.
