Broto Mayor María Carmen Muro Gracia and Culture Councillor Begoña Allué Ramón also attended the opening, together with residents of Broto and other towns in the surrounding area. Fundación Aspace Zaragoza wished to highlight “and especially thank Broto Town Council for its welcome and cooperation, making it possible for “Junto a ti” to continue its journey and bring to new audiences the work developed over three years in its photography workshop.”
The visit to Sobrarbe began in the morning with a walk along the accessible trail at the Pradera de Ordesa. The experience held special significance for Viky Romeo, as it was her first time visiting the mountains. The day was therefore another example of the importance of creating environments and providing the necessary support so that everyone can participate, create and enjoy new experiences.
SEVEN PHOTOGRAPHERS, 13 FAMILIES AND 26 IMAGES
“Junto a ti” grew out of the photography workshops run by Fundación Aspace Zaragoza under the direction of Simón Aranda. The project features Óscar Alijarde, Carlos Grasa, Viky Romeo, José Gracia, Marc Moya, Mari Luz Altimasveres and Virginia Navarro.
Through 26 photographs, the authors portray 13 families linked to the organization. To create the images, they used cameras adapted to each person’s needs with resources such as articulated arms, tripods and buttons operated by hand or head, making it possible for them to decide on the framing and take each photograph themselves.
The result thus goes beyond the exhibition itself: “Junto a ti” speaks of family and bonds, but also of autonomy, creativity and opportunities, showing what can be achieved when technology and support are placed at the service of each person’s abilities.
The exhibition is accompanied by a book bringing together the photographs and texts by the families and their authors. In the foreword, Simón Aranda summarizes the result: “There is no photo of pity or charity here; there is art, there is perspective and there is dignity.” People interested in purchasing a copy to support the foundation can add their names to the list available at Broto Library. “Junto a ti” will remain open to the public at Broto Library until next November 2.
