His appointment is part of the renewal of the national employers' association's governing bodies and advisory committees for the next four years. The Board of Directors approved their composition at the proposal of Antonio Garamendi, following his recent re-election as CEOE president.
NEW LEADERSHIP AT THE COUNCIL
Tesier succeeds María Helena Antolín as head of the Council, whose Secretariat is held by Cristina Riestra. Its main areas of work include defending a model that guarantees citizens' right to mobility and travel, both in large cities and rural areas. It also promotes the decarbonization of transport through the development of zero-net-emission vehicles, the deployment of charging infrastructure and the adoption of alternative fuels.
SUPPORT FOR SMES AND REGULATORY ADAPTATION
The Council also works to ensure that businesses, particularly SMEs, have an appropriate regulatory framework and the tools needed to adapt to new environmental and labor requirements, promoting innovation without compromising competitiveness.
To this end, it analyzes and monitors regulations affecting the entire mobility value chain and takes part in legislative processes. Its work covers issues such as low-emission zones, transport taxation and sustainable workplace mobility plans arising from national and European legislation. In these areas, it acts as the business community's interlocutor with public authorities. The body chaired by Tesier will also promote areas with a growing economic and business impact, such as autonomous vehicles, 5G connectivity, data management and interoperability between the public and private sectors.
